Suzy Kim is best known for styling cosmetics and creating textures with the products as her medium.
Suzy grew up on the north shore of Long Island and has lived in NYC for the last 16 years. She received her BA in studio arts from Smith College and then completed her MA in art education at NYU.
After graduating as a fine art painter/photographer looking for a day job in NYC, she landed at the art buying department of McCann Erickson. This is where she first encountered commercial photography and prop styling. Prop styling combined all of her passions. Her deep love of art, collaboration with the best in the industry and shopaholic tendencies all in one.
When not treasure hunting the streets of New York City for that perfect prop she is traveling near and far with her husband and three children in search of the next inspiration.
Some fun facts: favorite color is purple, architect is Tadao Ando, painter is Lucian Freud, photographers Sarah Moon, Irving Penn and Sugimoto. The person that most influenced me is my high school photo teacher Dr. Lieberman, and a place that is is endlessly fascinating is Japan. A must go at least once a year for a fix.
